Sandy's east side, from Alta Canyon up through Granite and Bell Canyon, has steep driveways and long runs from the street. Our trucks can set a bin on a slope, but we need to know the grade and which direction it falls so the container sits level and the truck can pick it up without dragging. Send us a photo of the driveway when you book and we'll confirm placement before the driver rolls. Street placement in Sandy requires city permission, so the driveway is faster and cheaper; on the flatter west side around Crescent and 9000 South it's rarely an issue.
Sandy has a lot of 1970s and 80s homes that are on their second or third roof, and the roofing companies we work with want the bin on site before the crew arrives. We stage bins the afternoon before tear-off. A single-layer three-tab tear-off on a Sandy split-level fits in a 20-yard with room to spare; architectural shingles over two layers on a big two-story may need a swap. Shingles are heavy, so we'll talk through the 2 included tons and the $55-per-ton overage up front so there's nothing surprising on the invoice.
Beyond roofing, Sandy work is kitchen and bath remodels, garage and basement cleanouts, and a steady stream of deck and fence replacements. Deck demo is bulky but light, so a 20-yard fills fast without hitting the weight limit. Estate cleanouts in the older neighborhoods near Sandy's historic district often need two bins back to back; we'll schedule the swap so there's no gap.
Sandy is about nine miles down the corridor from Holladay. Full bins are taken to a local landfill or recycling center and billed by the scale ticket. Hazardous materials (paint, fuel, chemicals, asbestos), tires, batteries, electronics, and medical waste. Dirt, concrete, brick and stone can't go in the 20-yard; they go in the 7-yard box. Mattresses and box springs: $20 each.
We bring heavy-duty boards and use them when needed to help spread the weight, at no extra charge. It's standard practice, not a guarantee against damage, so tell us about your driveway when you book.
